Conference Travel
Our students and faculty regularly present at international, national, and regional conferences. There are several forms of support available to you:
Throughout your funding period of five years, you are guaranteed Departmental Travel Funding which is typically approximately $700 per year. See Departmental Travel Funding for information on how to access these funds.
You can also apply for a GSO Professional, Academic, and Creative Work (PAC) Grant. These awards are between $50 and $500 per year. See the PAC web page for more information on this grant.
If you need to cover child care expenses at a conference, you can access up to $1,500 per year by using your Child Care Subsidy provided by the Graduate School. You may access these funds through the form the Grad School distributes via email at the beginning of each school year.
If you are attending a flagship conference such as CCCC or RSA, they may offer a graduate student travel grant competition if they have sufficient funding to do so. Keep an eye on their websites and relevant listservs for information on availability.
