PAIRA Info Session

 

PAIRA (Public Administration and International Relations Association) is the registered student organization for students in the Department of Public Administration and International Affairs.

 

There will be an information session about PAIRA (what PAIRA does, type of offices, PAIRA election, etc.) tomorrow Tuesday, August 27th from 3:30PM-4:30PM in Eggers Hall Room 209.

 

Anyone interested in learning more about running for a PAIRA position or would like to learn more about what PAIRA does, please plan to attend.

 

Important Registration Dates

 

The Add Deadline for the Fall Semester is next week on September 3rd. You must add all courses prior to this date. The Registrar does NOT allow late adds.

 

The Academic/Financial Drop Deadline is September 16th. You must drop all courses prior to this date, or you will be charged for the class. Registrar & Bursar do NOT provide refunds for failure to drop a course for any reason.

GIS Programming with Python with Prof. Xuebin Yang

Mondays & Wednesdays 12:45PM-2:05PM

 

Design and development of geospatial applications is identified as one of three industry-sector technical competencies by US Department of Labor. This skill will also hugely empower you in your academic arena. Python programming in GIS environment will ensure you such a skill and competency.

 

Both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome. No prior programming experience is required. For more information, please contact Dr. Xuebin Yang (xyang110@syr.edu).

Lockers & Headshots

 

  • If you would like to use a locker in the AV hallway during the 24-25 academic year, please stop by the PAIA office in 215 Eggers Hall or email Ken Dwyer.

    • You may have a locker assigned for you to use through the academic year to keep any belongings while you are on campus.

  • Headshots are in! Please email Makayla Newvine to receive the digital copy of your headshot taken at IR Orientation.
