Taking a remotely administered exam

Download the app from examsoft.com/syracuselaw using Chrome or Firefox browsers

• If you're redirected to the examsoft homepage without logging in, clear your browser cookies and cache and try it again

Install and open the app, then choose Syracuse University College of Law as your institution and sign in

• If you didn't recently install, but you're seeing the same redirect issue, clearing your browser cache can help here as well

Select and download your exam

Note that it autopopulates your exam number

Your exam password will be emailed to you at the start of the exam window for that day

• for the mock exam, please use password Abc123 (capital A, lowercase bc, digits 123)

Select enter to begin

Follow the instructions to allow the system to use your your camera and microphone, then test them. Note that you may need to make some noise - Testing 123 - in order for the microphone to be recognized

Snap a nice, clear picture of your face then click Save & Continue, then Continue again to enter the exam notices

Stop at the Room Scan notice and perform a scan of your room with your webcam to demonstrate that you have no communications devices nor materials that are not expressly permitted by your instructor, then click Next to proceed

The last page of instructions are from your instructor and specific to your exam

Finally, click Next to enter the exam itself

Note that the timer has now begun

Proceed through the questions and, with exam complete, click the exam controls and choose Submit Exam to close and submit.

Note that your exam will automatically close and submit if the timer reaches zero before you submit manually

Please be sure to allow your monitoring data to upload

• When you receive the checkmark on the green screen, or the green check in the list if you opted to return to the dashboard, you're all done!
