Printing Reset after NetID Password Change
Mac
Issue:
You have changed your SU NetID password
When you try to print to the printers, the job doesn't print and you receive a message Hold for Authentication or On Hold (Authentication Required).
How to Fix:
Open your Mac's Keychain Access application. There are two ways to do this:
- Go to your Launchpad, open the Other folder, then click on the Keychain Access icon.
OR - Click on the magnifying glass icon at the top right corner of your screen,
In the Spotlight Search window, type Keychain
Click on the icon for Keychain Access in the results window
- Go to your Launchpad, open the Other folder, then click on the Keychain Access icon.
- In the search box at the top right of the Keychain Access window, type law.
You should see an entry similar to the one below with the same name that you have the printer saved as.
Highlight the entry in the list and then hit the delete key on your keyboard.
Select Delete when prompted.
Now try to print your print job again.
You will be prompted to enter your credentials. Make sure that both the option for Registered User and Remember this password in my keychain are selected.
Enter your NetID and your new password.
Please Note
The name field is usually filled in with your Mac username. Please make sure to delete whatever is already in the box and retype your SU NetID username.
- Click OK.
- You should now be able to print successfully.
