Disabling PDF Generator Functionality in Frevvo

Table of Contents

Overview

Frevvo recently discovered a bug within their application, causing errors with forms where the PDF generator functionality is used. Due to this bug, on forms where the PDF generator functionality is used, form submissions are prevented from being emailed, as well as display an error in the form submission page for each individual submission.

A workaround is listed below.

Workaround

As a workaround, use the following steps to disable use of the PDF Generator on each individual form.

Disable Save PDF

The Save PDF functionality will need to be disabled on each individual form. The Save PDF function normally allows for saving a PDF copy of a submission in the submission repository in Frevvo.

  1. Edit the desired form
  2. Select Settings from the top flow bar
  3. On the default Settings tab (Settings), uncheck the Save PDF option
  4. Save the form

Disable Send Snapshot

For forms that send emails on submission.

If your form sends email, the Send Snapshot functionality will need to be disabled. All settings for Send Snapshot, including the the JPEG and PNG options, rely on the PDF Generator, thus the functionality needs to be disabled entirely. The form will then send email without error, and include the submission XML file.

  1. Edit the desired form
  2. Select Settings from the top flow bar (1)
  3. Select Document Actions (2)
  4. On the default Document Actions tab  (Send Documents), if the Send Email radio option is enabled:
    1. Set the Send Snapshot dropdown (bottom) to blank/empty
    2. Set to the Send Generated PDF Forms radio button to None
  5. If you use the Additional Email function:
    1. From the Document Actions page, select the Additional Email tab
    2. Repeat step 4 (above)
  6. Save the form
