A wide range of opportunities and awards are available to students in the Falk College, providing you with the means to enhance your personal, academic, and career growth.

Falk College Merit-Based Awards

These are awarded to students based on specific merit criteria. All students are automatically considered for these merit-based awards. No application is required.

Dean’s List

Students at Falk College are named to Dean’s list when they have achieved a minimum semester grade point average of 3.400 and a minimum of 12 credit hours of letter grades with no missing or Incomplete grades. Students receive a certificate of achievement from Dean Jordan and often cite this honor on their resume, portfolio or when applying for employment.

Leadership Scholars

The Falk College Leadership Scholars program aims to recognize outstanding academic excellence and stellar leadership though a generous scholarship and other unique benefits. All first-year applicants who apply to any Falk College undergraduate program by January 1 for the following year are automatically considered for the Falk College Leadership Scholarship.

Students who receive a Falk College Leadership Scholar award are entitled to:

  • Annual merit scholarship renewable for 4 years.

  • Priority consideration for the Renée Crown University Honors Program.

  • Priority consideration for admission into a Falk College’s master’s degree program and a guaranteed 50% tuition scholarship.

  • Dedicated Leadership Scholar Faculty Mentors.

  • Specialized Leadership Scholar career counseling events.

  • Priority consideration for Falk College Career Services Immersion Trips, the Barbara Richman Mirken New York City Social Work Immersion Trip, and other opportunities.

  • Annual Leadership Scholar events, field trips and excursions.

Forever Orange Scholarship

The 2024 Forever Orange Scholarship provides scholarship for half of the tuition for students who enroll full-time in a qualifying graduate degree or certificate program at Syracuse University. The scholarship is automatically available to all Class of 2024 graduating seniors who are eligible for admission—no separate scholarship application is needed. Falk College Student Support Funds

These student support funds are available to students for specific needs. Application is required.

In some cases, existing financial aid may preclude a student’s eligibility for this additional award. Determination shall be made by Financial Aid according to the University’s prevailing standards for such scholarships.

Dr. Renie Kehres Special Needs Fund

The Dr. Renie Kehres Special Needs Fund was established in 2013 to help defray the costs of special needs or emergencies that arise for students in the Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics. The overall goal of the fund is to help students overcome barriers that could negatively affect their education and, ultimately, their graduation from Syracuse University. Falk students may apply for assistance from the fund by filling out an application at the link below.

Sobczak Family Student Support Endowed Fund

The Sobczak Family Student Support Endowed Fund supports the overall wellbeing of Syracuse University students enrolled in Falk College. Mini grants are awarded for the academic year, and can support a wide range of needs students may have. Falk students may apply for assistance from the fund by filling out an application at the link below.
