Microsoft Authenticator on your iPad

Microsoft Authenticator

  • This is available on your iPad.
  • You can use your personal device to authenticate if you want.


Click on the icon for Authenticator

Review the Microsoft Privacy Policy, if necessary, and then click on the Accept button

Help us improve Microsoft Authenticator, turn this on if you wish then click on the Continue button

Click on the button to Add  work or school account

Click on Add account

Sign In using your @syr.edu email account then click on the Next button

Enter your Netid password then click on the Next button

When you get the page to Enter a Code, click on the link to Sign in another way

Verify your identity using one of the methods shown.  If none of these are correct then contact the ITS Help desk to get a method added.  You will need to prove to them who you are to get this updated.

YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MOVE FORWARD UNTIL THE INITIAL AUTHENTICATION METHOD IS CONFIRMED

If you recognized one of the authentication methods, then enter the code you received either via text or phone call and click on the Verify button

Click on Continue on the Sign In with your phone screen

Click on Register on the Help us keep your device secure screen

Enter your passcode or use Touch ID if you've enabled it

Select to Allow Authenticator to send you notifications

Once you receive the Account Added screen, click on the Finish button

Authenticator will now be setup for use on your iPad
