Glossary - Maximo

Dispatched Work Order: Shop and technician assigned.  The technician may be assigned by Dispatch or the Supervisor. 

Go Home: Click on the House icon in the far left menu.

Portlet: A small, customizable component that provides specific information or functionality on a user's dashboard or Start Center.

Scheduled Work Order: Shop assigned; no technician assigned.

Start Center: Default landing page or dashboard that users see upon logging in.  It provides a personalized and consolidated view of key information, such as work orders or notifications allowing users to quickly access and manage relevant tasks within the Maximo system.

Why create a Service Request:  The requester gets notified when the job is complete.

Why create a Work Order with no Service Request: An internal facilities job where there is no notification required.
