Instructions (for downloading and activating Pro-Tools)

  1. Go to the Microsoft Teams group your professor has invited you to for your class that uses Pro-Tools.

  2. Go to the General Channel and then to files at the top

  3. You will want to download the Avid Pro-Tools installer

  4. Once downloaded go ahead and install the software

    1. This can take a while to install as it is a large install.

  5. Once finished, you are going to go to your applications folder and launch iLok manager

    1. This is going to be the software that will license your Pro-Tools install

  6. Once iLok has launched it may ask to update (we recommend Auto checking and installing the latest update)

    1. After the update has completed (if there is one) go to top left hand corner of your screen, select iLok License Manager and the select preferences

    2. Go to My Connections and then enter your First and Last name and your SU email address

    3. Then check the box for Automatically connect, select the NEWH-MP2DHR4VHV server and at the bottom you should see a little gear icon to click on

      1. Click connect make sure your information is correct and then type in the server password your professor will have given you.

    4. You should now be connected to the Pro-Tools server and be able to open Pro-Tools.
