Secure/Delayed Printing Instructions
Secure printing allows you to send a printing job from your computer to a copier and not have it print immediately, but instead have it print only once you “okay” it directly from the copy machine. This is useful when you’re printing something you don’t want sitting out in the open while you go from your desk to the copier.
Printing from your computer
With the printing screen open in your document/software, make sure you have the copier you want selected as your printer, and then click “Printer Properties”
From the “Printing Options” tab in the properties box, use the drop down arrow for “Job Type” and select “Secure Print”
The Secure Print box will pop up. You can then enter the passcode you want to use, known only to you. This is the code you will use at the copier to release your job to print when you’re ready.
Click OK, ensure all of your other settings (quantity, double sided, etc.) are correct, and then click Print.
The job will be saved on the copier for 3 days, and then deleted if not printed.
Releasing print job on copier
At the copier, touch “Jobs”
Touch “Secure Jobs” (may be in slightly different location on screen depending on copier)
Find your job and touch on it (username/NetID is mkmorrow in this example)
Enter the passcode you set for that print job and touch OK
A list of your current secure jobs will display. You can tap an individual job to print it, or use the trash can icon to delete it. Or, you can use the buttons to Print All or Delete All. Print jobs will be automatically deleted if not printed 3 days from when they are sent.
