Provides Maxwell faculty and students complete support for research projects that require all levels of computing resources, security plans, data and grant applications, remote access to statistical software for course work and much more. Use ICT's Contact Us page to connect for help with questions and needs related to research projects, including computing and software resources and data and grant applications that require a security plan or authorized signature on behalf of Syracuse University. 

Leverages behavioral science and randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to intelligently design and rigorously evaluate interventions in order to build evidence for what works. The X Lab partners with nonprofits, foundations, and local and state governments as well as with researcher in and beyond Maxwell to strengthen their research projects by adding an RCT component. 

Specifically in terms of support for humanities research, the Humanities Center connects faculty and graduate students to career-enriching fellowship opportunities, workshops, info sessions and other supports offered in-house, throughout campus, and beyond.

As a research organization at Syracuse University, TRAC provides comprehensive, independent and nonpartisan information about federal enforcement, staffing and spending through systematic and informed use of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

Provides expanded funding opportunities and serves as a hub to foster and support diverse undergraduate engagement in faculty-guided scholarly research and creative inquiry across all disciplines and programs at Syracuse University.

Research Guide on Open Access Publishing

A division of the Syracuse University Office of Research, the Office of Research Development facilitates team-based collaboration around strategic funding opportunities and manages the University's internal funding competitions, including both internal grant programs and externally funded limited submissions

Assists researchers in working with local and national companies and applying for funding from private foundations. 

Provides central coordination of Syracuse University sponsored projects by overseeing the proposal submission process and negotiating contractual terms and conditions of resultant awards. Caroline McMullin (cmcmulli@syr.edu) is Maxwell’s OSP Research Administrator.

Works collaboratively with OSP, faculty, and departmental research administrators for post-award financial administration of approved and fully executed awards, including grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements. 

Provides administrative services to university researchers to facilitate research and ensure regulatory compliance with applicable federal regulations, laws and University policies; includes oversight of research involving human subjects via the Institutional Review Board (IRB), animals via the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and Responsible Conduct of Research, among other concerns.

In the course of their work, Syracuse University’s faculty, researchers, students and staff may develop new technology or make new discoveries. The science, technology, methodology, product, etc., that the employee or student discovers may be intellectual property. When this is true, patents, copyrights or trademarks can be used to protect the inventor/discoverer’s findings and Syracuse University’s interest in them.
