Graduate and Undergraduate Opportunities

Creative Works Grants

The Graduate Program has allocated funds to support student research, creative work, thesis research, and/or travel. All graduate students in architecture are invited to submit proposals for the use of these funds. The number of grants awarded will be based on the quality, type, and number of applications. We will consider Creative Works Research Proposals of up to $3000. All awards are contingent on the submission of a finalized and approved budget and a recommendation letter from your Mentor as well as an advising meeting with Eliana Abu-Hamdi, the Associate Dean of Research

The Hamilton Fellowship

The Hamilton Fellowship offers a unique opportunity to investigate cutting-edge topics in health and wellness research, with a particular focus on designing solutions tailored to specific populations and/or clinical applications, while harnessing the potential of advanced technologies and platforms where applicable. The Fellow will have the privilege of engaging with both completed and upcoming projects, deriving inspiration for their research and identifying avenues for implementation of their findings. Any individual who holds a doctorate or a graduate degree with at least (3) years of research experience in architecture, allied fields (design, technology, health and social sciences, etc.), or unconventional fields that influence health & wellness design is eligible to apply for the Hamilton Fellowship.

The Tradewell Fellowship

The Tradewell Fellowship is an exciting opportunity that offers aspiring healthcare architects exceptional career-building opportunities and is the most established fellowship of its kind with about three decades of legacy and counting. Fellows will be immersed in the healthcare architecture design field and have the opportunity to continue their education with an individual healthcare architecture research topic of their choice. Students graduating by the Summer of 2023 with a first professional degree in architecture are eligible to apply for the Tradewell Fellowship.

2024 Graduate Dean's Award for Excellence in Research and Creative Work

The Graduate Dean’s Award for Excellence in Research and Creative Work will be granted to up to 8 graduate students. Doctoral and master’s students in good academic standing from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Application Deadline: Friday, January 26, 2024 

Graduate Student Organization Travel Grants 

Competitive awards that defray the cost of attending academic and professional conferences for graduate students.

Application Deadline: 15th of every month during the Fall and Spring semesters

Summer Research or Creative Stipends for Undergraduates 

Provides up to $2000 of competitive funding for students working under the supervision of a faculty member.

Application Deadline: TBA(Applications typically due in March)

The Renee Crown University Honors Program 

One venue through which undergraduates are supported in conducting research.

Application Deadline: Deadlines vary based on grant.

Faculty-mentored independent research/creative project funding for students (including teams) in all majors (up to $7500).
