Poll Everywhere - Presenting in PowerPoint - PC/Windows
To present a PowerPoint poll using Poll Everwhere polls you must:
Download and install the Poll Everywhere plug-in for PowerPoint. Please visit Poll Everywhere for Windows PowerPoint for download and installation guide.Â
If you have an SU managed computer, you will need to reach out to your departmental IT support if the plugin is not installed.
Log into Poll Everywhere in the Poll Everywhere plugin.
Step 1
Open PowerPoint and select a New or Blank Presentation.
Step 2Â
On PowerPoint ribbon you will note the Poll Everywhere tab that is located on the far right-side of the ribbon. Select the Poll Everywhere tab.
Step 3
The Poll Everywhere tab will open a horizontal menu of items. Select the Log in icon.Â
Step 4Â
The Log in dialog box will pop up. Select the Launch log-in window button.Â
Step 5
Enter your Syracuse University credentials and click the blue Next button. Then click the blue Log in with Syracuse University button.Â
Step 6
Select your account when prompted by the Microsoft account pop-up dialog box.Â
Step 7Â
Select the blue Authorize button. You will note and close the Access granted window. Â
Step 8Â
Your Poll Everywhere dashboard will reveal itself in another pop-up window. Here you can select pre-existing activities, and/or create New Activity to add to your PowerPoint presentation. Select your activities and click the blue Insert slides button. A pop-up window indicates that you have 'Successfully inserted number slides'.Â
Step 9
Go to your PowerPoint presentation and note the inserted activities/slides from Poll Everywhere. You will also note the checkered corners of the slide. These indicate placeholders and suggest the current mode to edit, add or delete slides or activities. Once you click on the Start from Beginning icon (top left-hand), or the Slide Show icon (bottom right-hand), these placeholders automatically disappears.Â
Step 10
To present to your audience, students can join via the Web by entering your Activity Response URL (see upper left-hand side), or they can scan (using their tablets or mobile phone) the QR code noted on the upper right-hand side.
