2015: Undergraduates Recognized

On April 29, 2015 the Maxwell School celebrated the achievements of undergraduate scholarship in the Social Sciences in the third annual Maxwell Celebration of Undergraduate Scholarship. Our celebration consisted of individual events hosted by each department as well as a multi-disciplinary poster session featuring research undertaken by undergraduate students during the current academic year.

The following awards were presented during the celebration

MAX 123/132 Exemplary Student Paper Award, selected by MAX course faculty

• MAX 123 – the winner is Grace Bobertz, for her Fall 2014 paper titled Big Decisions: The Responsibility of Democracy.

• MAX 132 – the winner is  Grace Bobertz, for her Spring 2015 paper titled Identity Crisis: the Cultural Consequences of Globalization.

Outstanding Student Research Paper, selected by a Maxwell faculty committee

• Awarded to Joshua Campbell for his paper titled The New Demonology: A tract on the narratives, historical origins and continuing prevalence of New World Order Conspiracism.

Research Paper Honorable Mention, selected by a Maxwell faculty committee

• Awarded to Bo Stewart for his paper titled Personal Wealth and Legislator Voting Ideology.

Best Poster Award, selected by viewer voting during the poster session

• Awarded to Michael Nadal for his work titled To Leave or Not To Leave: Labor Migration During the Eurozone Crisis.

Research Poster Honorable Mention, selected by viewer voting during the poster session

• Awarded to Crystal Lau for her work titled China's Growing Role in Taiwan's Economy.
