Citizenship and Civic Engagement Program

Citizenship and Civic Engagement (CCE), an undergraduate B.A. major offered by the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, is a nationally unique interdisciplinary learning experience that enables students to contribute to the public good while preparing for careers in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

Spaces are limited to 30 students per class year cohort. Prospective Syracuse University students who are still in high school can apply to CCE as part of their Common Application to the university. Or, they can apply on campus during their first or second year.

Each year, the Maxwell Program in Citizenship and Civic Engagement (CCE) makes a number of awards and funding opportunities available to our students, thanks to the ongoing generosity of alumni, the CCE Advisory Board, supporters, external funders, and the Maxwell Dean’s Office.
