Blackboard Ultra Course Copy

After your course has been developed by the Center for Online and Digital Learning, it will be important for the College of Professional Studies Instructors who are part of the BPS and Associate of Arts Degrees to be responsible for copying their content from one semester to the next. In addition to copying the content items include:

  • Updating your syllabus and ensuring it has been made accessible.
  • Updating content that has dates from the previous semester associated.
  • Review the entire course space. Pay close attention to the discussion boards and any other tool that may have included student-generated content.

For more detailed information on how to copy course content in Ultra see this /wiki/spaces/blackboard01/pages/154384915.

In order to preform a course copy you will need to be an instructor in the course you are copying from and the course you are coping to. As instructor of the record in MySlice, this should be the case.

Step 1

  • Make sure you are enrolled as an instructor in both courses.
  • Go to the course you are/want to copy from. (ie... last semester's course) and copy the ID number of the course you want to copy from.

Step 2

  • Open your new Ultra Shell and click the "+ Add Content" icon in the middle of screen.

  • From the dropdown menu select "Copy Content"

Step 3

  • Paste the Course ID that you copied in step one from your last run into the field.

  • To copy the entire course content from the old course click the check box next to the name of the course you wish to copy and click "Start Copy" in the bottom right hand corner.
    • If don't want to copy the entire course, and instead want to select the items to copy, go to Step 4
  • The copy process can take a few minutes.

  • Once complete review the copied content and clean up menu items. Some menu items will not be applicable. If you have questions call ITS support.

Additional Information

You can select individual items to copy over from your previous courses using the same steps as above except we have one additional step.

Step  4

  • Highlight and click on the course name you wish to copy from. Do not click the check box yet as in step 3.
  • This will take you into the file structure of the course you wish to copy an item(s) from.
  • Select the folder you wish to copy from. It will open up to display items that can be copied over. Select that folder(s) or item(s) you wish to copy over by clicking on the check box as in step 3. Then select "Start Copy" in the bottom righthand corner of your screen.
