Overview
The Microsoft Authenticator app helps you sign in to your accounts when you're using two-factor verification.
When responding to an MFA push notification using Microsoft Authenticator, you will be presented with a number verification. That will need to be typed into the app to complete the approval.
Number matching is combined with location information to help ensure the sign-in request was in fact initiated by you, and not a malicious actor.
Before You Begin
Install the latest version of the Microsoft Authenticator app, based on your operating system:
- Google Android. On your Android device, go to Google Play to download and install the Microsoft Authenticator app.
- Apple iOS. On your Apple iOS device, go to the App Store to download and install the Microsoft Authenticator app.
