Using the Kaltura Caption Editor

Kaltura will automatically caption videos that are uploaded, recorded using Kaltura Capture or Express Capture, or imported from a Zoom cloud recording. While the quality of these automatic captions is generally good, there will always be editing required to ensure that the captions meet WCAG 2.1 accessibility guidelines. Usually, editing of spelling, capitalization, and punctuation is all that is required but in some cases the machine-generated captions will have critical errors in content that will need to be corrected.

There are several ways to get to the Kaltura Caption Editor, but most efficient way is to:

  1. Log in to Kaltura
  2. Go to My Media
  3. Find the video in the listing
  4. Click the Edit button (icon looks like a pencil)
