These instructions are for Intel Macs.
The new M1/M2 Macs don't support Boot Camp. Using third party solutions such as Parallels can be problematic, leading to graphical glitches in 3D modeling and CAD programs, and reduced performance due to running Windows inside macOS.
- Obtain a copy of Windows 10, which is free for students.
- Save the Windows 10 installation file (ISO) to the desktop on your Mac.
- Follow the steps to setup Boot Camp and Windows.
Recommendations
- When it asks you how much space to devote to the Windows partition, we recommend 100-150gb. You can't easily change this after it's done without wiping it out and starting over.
