OCV - Mashups

Topic Overview

Blackboard allows instructors to add mashups to a content area of their course. Photos from Flickr, videos from YouTube or files from Slideshare can be uploaded to Blackboard.

Steps

Flickr Photo

  1. Access any content area of the course.

  2. Click Build Content and select Flickr Photo.





  3. Write the search word in the Keywords box, and click Go.

  4. After results on the Search Page appear, Select the picture.

  5. Enter Name and update Options.

  6. Click Submit.

YouTube Video

  1. Access any content area of the course.

  2. Click Build Content and select YouTube Video.





  3. Write the search word in the Search box, and click Go.


  4. After results on the Search Page appear, Select the picture.

  5. Enter Name and update Options.

  6. Click Submit.

SlideShare Presentation

  1. Access any content area of the course.

  2. Click Build Content and select SlideShare Presentation.


  3. Write the search word in the Search box, and click Go.

  4. After results on the Search Page appear, Select the picture.

  5. Enter Name and update Options.

  6. Click Submit.

Ensemble Video

  1. Ensure you are logged in at http://ensemble.syr.edu in another browser window or tab to ensure access to your videos from within Blackboard.

  2. Browse to any content area in a course where you are instructor.

  3. Click Build Content and select Ensemble Video LTI.





  4. Search for the desired Ensemble video and select the video.




  5. To embed the video within your Blackboard site rather than having student link to it in a new window, select the "Video Player" option.





  6. The video will appear in the content area.
