Business incubation. Students work with mentors and coaches to develop and deploy a for-profit or nonprofit venture. Permission of instructor.

Audience

The intended audience for this course consists of students who are serious about launching a company and understand the rigor, sacrifice, and force of will required to make it happen. Entrepreneurship is a mindset, not a destination or moniker.

Learning Objectives

After taking this course, the students will be able to:

  • Identify your entrepreneurial mission, vision, and understand why you are doing this. 

  • Develop core technologies, proof of concept, or prototype of a product or service

  • Generate revenue or strategies for obtaining financing for their business 

  • Develop a viable economic model for your business, or multiple viable models. 

  • Analyze the various capital sources available and develop a plan based on your unique business concept. 

  • Participate in campus wide business plan and idea competitions as an initial capital raising tactic.
