Topic Overview
Learning Modules are effective ways to deliver course content in an organized fashion. Items in a Learning Module are managed like all other content and can be placed in Content Areas. You can include course links to Assignments, Tests, Readings and Discussion Boards from within the Learning Module and organize your content in the order you want your students to move through the lesson.
Steps
Learning Modules can be built in content areas, such as the Content Page.
Open the Content Area you want to build your Learning Module in.
Click the Build Content button.
Select Learning Module – fourth option from the bottom of the Create column.
Learning Module tool link in content areaEnter the name of the Learning Module (ex: Week One).
Enter a description – this can include goals and learning outcomes.
Set the Settings:
Availability and Date Restrictions.
View – you have the option to force students to view the content in the order you set.
Table of contents display options.
Click Submit to save.
You will be returned to the Content Page.
Click the name of the Learning Module you just created to open it.
The new learning module will look like this:
Content is created in a Learning Module the same way it is for all other content areas - Add content by using the options listed in the Build and Create dropdown menus.
Content appears in the order it was created but it can be rearranged by dragging the items up and down in the list.
Discussion Boards, Blogs, Tests, Assignments, etc. can also be built outside of the Learning Modules. You can still link to these types of content within a Learning Module by using the Build Content > Course Link option.
