Component Field Automatically Added to Ticket
As part of the JSM migration, some projects needed the Component field to be preset with one of the components from that project. This means each ticket created will have a preset component. As the project manager, you can change the component or remove this requirement.
To Change the Component
Under Project Settings, click on Request Types
Click on the "Email" Request Type, or the Request Type that is used by the email channel
Click on the Component field and add or replace the component
Click Save Changes
To Remove the Component
To remove the component, you first need to ensure the Component field is not required by the Field Configuration
Under Project Settings, click on Fields
Review the Field Configuration name. For example the "Standard Field Configuration with Component Required" name states the Component field is required
You can also scroll down and locate the Component field and see if it states "Yes" under the Required column
If the field is required, please work with the AAP team to change your Field Configuration Scheme
If the field is not required, please follow the instructions to remove the field from the Request Type
Under Project Settings, click on Request Types
Click on the "Email" Request Type, or the Request Type that is used by the email channel
Click on the Component field and select the Remove button
Click the Save Changes button
