If a Part-Time Instructor has not taught for your school in a past academic year, you will need to add a profile for them in the PTI Database before being able to generate an appointment letter for them.

\uD83D\uDCD8 Instructions

  1. Follow the Guide for Accessing the PTI Database.

  2. Once the search page opens, select the “View/Edit All PTIs.” This will open the form view of all the PTIs that you have entered in your database.

  3. Once this page opens, at the bottom left of the page you will see an area that will allow you to switch between all the instructors that you have entered into your database. Just to the right is an option for “New (blank) record.” This is what you will want to select to add a new Instructor to the database.

  4. You will then be brought to a blank instructor record.

  5. If you are adding an instructor who has been employed at Syracuse University search for their information at the top in the “ID/Name” Field.

  6. If you are entering information for a new instructor, use the fields shown to the right and ensure that you check the “New Employee” box. Checking this box will ensure that proper new employee information is communicated to the instructor before their start date..
