Testing Speaker & Microphone

  1. Click the Audio Selection menu and select Test Speaker & Microphone

  2. Run through the speaker test.  If you cannot hear the ringtone, change the speaker selection from the drop down.  After you hear the ringtone, click Yes.

  3. Run through the Microphone test.  If you cannot hear a replay of you speaking, change the microphone selection from the drop down.   After you hear the replay, click yes.

Now your audio configurations will be set in Zoom.

Depending on which rooms you are using will determine which computer you will need to use along with the camera / microphone configuration. 




Registrar Classrooms

Newhouse 1:  101, 102, 212, 406, 409
Newhouse 2:  340, 345, 350, 355, 469
Newhouse 3:  141, 250, 251

  • The PC at the teaching station is the only computer that will connect to the room's camera and microphone system (AV Bridge). 

  • The Mac computers will not connect to the camera and microphone system (AV Bridge)

  • After launching a Zoom meeting, configure your microphone and camera to the following:

    • Microphone:  AV Bridge

      NOTE:  In Classroom 101 & 102 there is an additional microphone connected to the computer, USB audio CODEC.  Selecting this microphone choice provides more clarity from instructors in the front of the classroom, but for those in the back of the room the sound is much lower.


    • Speaker:  Extron HDMI
    • Camera:  AV Bridge (or AV Bridge Mini)

  • The Mac at the teaching station will connect to the room's camera (PTZ Pro 2) and microphone (USB audio CODEC) system.
  • After launching a Zoom meeting, configure your microphone and camera to the following:

    • Microphone:  USB audio CODEC

    • Speaker:  HDMI (VX2252 Series)

Mac Labs

  • The Mac at the teaching station will connect to the room's camera (PTZ Pro 2) and microphone (USB audio CODEC) system.
  • After launching a Zoom meeting, configure your microphone and camera to the following:

    • Microphone USB audio CODEC

    • Speaker:  AirPlay Room you connected to (ie:  NH_205A)

Mobile Carts

  • The Mac on the mobile cart will connect to the room's camera (PTZ Pro 2) and microphone (USB audio CODEC) system.
  • After launching a Zoom meeting, configure your microphone and camera to the following:


  • Microphone:  USB audio CODEC

  • Speaker*
    • 140 (Herg):  AirPlay Room you connected to (e.g.  NH_140)
    • 113 (Photo Studio), 303 (Miron Room), Studio B, 490 (Studio 3)432 (i3):  HDMI

PC Labs

Newhouse 2:  482, 482A, 486, 491

  • The PC at the teaching station will connect to the room's camera (PTZ Pro 2) and microphone (USB audio CODEC) system.
  • After launching a Zoom meeting, configure your microphone and camera to the following:

    • Microphone USB audio CODEC

    • Speaker:  Speaker/Headphone (Realtek Audio)

    • Camera  PTZ Pro 2
