While connected to a remote computer via a Remote Desktop (RDP) session, the default power options don't allow restart.  Use this information to restart your computer.

Restart via Command Line

From a command window, it is possible to restart your computer using the command below.  Please note that including the switch '/t 00' will force the restart immediately.

shutdown /r /t 00
 To open a command window.  Enter 'cmd' into the Start search and press enter.

Restart via Start Shortcut

If your Whitman computer is configured for remote access, you may use the shortcut placed on your Start.  From Start, enter 'Restart' into the search.  When ready to restart, click the shortcut to immediately restart the computer.  Utilization of this shortcut will immediately restart your computer.
