Academic Advising
Academic advisors will be one of your best resources as you figure out your academic career at Syracuse, to help navigate class schedules, course selection, and provide info on how to get involved with the college, university and arts community in order to graduate on time and with the experience necessary to succeed.
Registration/Schedule Adjustment
Schedules for incoming first-year students are put together prior to their arrival on campus. First-year students can view schedules upon move-in and may schedule adjust as outlined by the Registrar’s Office. After this first semester, students are responsible for managing their own registration and schedule adjustment and do so through a web portal known as MySlice.
External transfer students meet with an advisor during Opening Weekend and can then add classes on MySlice. Staff will be available to assist as outlined in the orientation schedule.
Returning undergraduate students are eligible to register and schedule adjust as outlined by the Registrar’s Office.
Note: Most College of Visual and Performing Arts students are required to meet with their faculty advisor before they can register for classes. For more information, please refer to the VPA Statement on Academic Advising.
