Course Description

This course introduces the student to computer hardware and operating systems; client/server OS operations and administration for secure computing; business applications, and analysis of alternative systems hardware and operating systems platforms.

Learning Objectives

After taking this course, the students will be able to:

  1. Explain the strategic role that technology plays in today's competitive business environment.
  2. Discuss the role that IT plays in improving business processes by helping organizations cut costs and become more competitive.
  3. Describe, analyze, and compare various technologies and assess the implications of implementation to solve business problems in an enterprise environment.
  4. Evaluate information technology services through the lenses of support, management, cost, security, value, and functionality.
