Rhino 7 has a new packagemanager command to easily install plugins.
This works for the following plugins:
- Caribou (Elk)
- Human
- Lunchbox
- PanelingTools
- SectionTools
- treeFrog
- Weaverbird
It does not work for these plugins:
- Hoopsnake
- Kangaroo
- Ladybug + Honeybee
- Octopus
- Rabbit
Using packagemanager
- Start Rhino 7 and issue the packagemanager command.
- In the Package Manager search box, search for a plugin, such as Weaverbird.
- ClimateStudio runs inside Rhino. Make sure you have the latest service of release of Rhino installed.
- Install ClimateStudio using default settings. (It installs to C:\Program Files\Solemma.)
- Start Rhino and you should see the ClimateStudio toolbar. In Grasshopper you should see the ClimateStudio tab.
- When you first run a simulation using ClimateStudio, it will ask for an activation code. Enter the following code:
EDU_Syracuse:5l7mz8y28aij795e
As long as the COVID-19 crisis looms, the license above is valid. In the future, licenses will be locked down for checkout only on campus and via SURA with a 7-day roaming period.
Common Issues
You need the latest service release of Rhino to run ClimateStudio.
In some cases if you receive a GPU error, your graphics card drivers may need to be updated.
ClimateStudio only works under Windows, and is not likely to run from a VM such as Parallels on the Mac.
