If you are experiencing issues with the web interface, you can utilize a remote desktop client to connect to Syracuse University's Remote Desktop Services.

Below are instructions on how to connect with an RDP Client for Windows and Mac.

Windows

  1. Download and open this RDS Windows Connection File
  2. You will be prompted with a login
    1. Under username, enter: AD\<Your NetID>
    2. Under password, enter: <Your NetID Password>

MacOS

  1. Download and install the Microsoft Remote Desktop Mac App
  2. Download and open this RDS Mac Connection File
  3. You will be prompted with a login
    1. Under username, enter:  <Your NetID>
    2. Under password, enter: <Your NetID Password>

Important considerations

Save your work to your network (H:\) drive or with OneDrive syncing

  • Just like physical labs, any files saved to the local hard drives will be removed.

Connect to RDS via Remote Desktop

Instructions

  1. Installation

  2. Launch the Windows App on your OS and click “Sign In” and sign in with your @syr.edu email and password.

  1. Click “Skip” on the welcome screen.

  1. Under Devices, locate “Azure Virtual Desktop - Windows” and below it, click “Connect”. If prompted for a password, enter your NetID password.

  1. If you receive a popup asking “Allow remote desktop connection”, click “Yes”.
