Before going further, you will need to install the SU Azure VPN following these directions.

  • Once you have the VPN installed, before adding the printers, start the VPN app and sign in. When you are done adding the printers, disconnect the VPN.
  • Every time you want to print, you'll need to first start the VPN, then send the print. When done printing, disconnect the VPN.
  1. Right click the Windows start button and choose Run.

  2. Enter \\arch-print.ad.syr.edu and click OK.

  4. A list of printers will

be displayed. We recommend you pick the ARCH-FAC printers closest to your office (pick more than one in case a printer is not working). You can select as many as you like, but the first time you add each type, there will be a delay as the driver is downloaded. Wait for it. Ctrl-click to select more than one printer. After you select a few, enable ‘Automatically Connect to the Selected Printer(s) When Connected’. This means the next time you sign into SURA, the printers will automatically appear on your computer and you won’t need to search for them. Handy!

  6. Henceforth, whenever you want to print, sign into SURA as in Step 3 and then keep the window open or minimized (don’t quit it or disconnect as you won’t be able to print). This will load the printers that you previously set up, and you won’t need to go through the other steps (unless you want to add a new printer).

  7.  Here’s a list describing each Faculty printer. We recommend adding the two closest B&W printers plus at least two color

appear. Double click a printer to add it. Learn about the various Plot Room printers here.

Choose the Postscript printer whenever you see two names for the same printer.
