    How do I sign into

    Logging in to Office 365

    ?

    All Office 365 services are available by using your NetID@syr.edu email address and NetID password.

    To access Office 365 at Syracuse University, follow these steps:

    1. Go to office.syr.edu and login with your SU .
    2. Enter your NetID@syr.edu email address and NetID password.
    3. Click (or tap) on the Office 365 bento menu icon (office365 app launcher iconImage Removed) to see the menu of Office 365 web apps and services that are available to you. You can click on the app launcher icon while in any Office 365 web app to easily switch between applications.
      You can also download the Office applications by clicking on "Install Apps" in the upper right-hand corner of the page"Sign In" button.

    Downloading the Office applications

    To download the Office applications, follow these steps:

    1. Click on the "Install Apps" button in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
    2. Select the Office application that you want to download, such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
    3. Follow the prompts to download and install the application on your computer.

    Note: You can also access Office 365 web apps and services by clicking on the Office 365 bento menu icon (office365 app launcher iconImage Added).


    Features and Included Applications

    Office 365 includes a range of applications and services to help you work more productively and collaboratively. Some of the most popular features include:

    • OneNote: Create digital notebooks to organize your notes and ideas.

    • Planner: Organize tasks and projects with visual, interactive boards.
    • Stream: Share and watch videos securely within your organization.
    • Power BI: Create dynamic, data-driven dashboards and reports.
    • Windows 10 Education: Access the latest version of the Windows operating system for education.
    • Downloadable Microsoft Office Applications: Access classic Office applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on your desktop or mobile device.

    The Office 365 Training Center offers a range of online tutorials of all of the features in and resources to help you get the most out of Office 365.

    What if I am No Longer a Current Student or Staff/Faculty?

    The Microsoft Licensing Program, through which Office 365 is being offered, is for current students and staff/faculty of participating Universities.  If you are no longer eligible for the program (you graduated or left the university), there are consumer or commercial Office 365 plans available.Once you are no longer eligible, Office 365 services will no longer be available for you to use, or only available with limited functionality.  As such, any data you have stored in these services will no longer be available to you. You will need Microsoft Licensing Program that provides access to Office 365, you may need to purchase a personal license through Microsoft or seek out other commercial or consumer Office 365 plans.

    Keep in mind that once your eligibility ends, your access to Office 365 services may be limited or discontinued, so it's important to retrieve any personal data you need to retain before you leave leaving the University.  If you are not a current student, staff, or faculty member, please refer to the

    Office 365 Add-ons

    While add-ons for can provide additional functionality and convenience to the Office suite can make certain things more accessible or convenient, at this time, the license that Syracuse University provides 's license for Office 365 does not currently allow for add-ons to be added or supported by ITS or the end-userusers.

    If you would like to use the Office suite 365 with add-ons, you will need to purchase your own a personal license through Microsoft and add them at your own discretion.
