Today, VPA faculty and staff received an email from the Dean's office providing an overview of the University's newly approved policy governing the procurement of information and communication technology (ICT). The policy aims to ensure hardware, software and services purchased for use at Syracuse University reach as broad and diverse an audience as possible by ensuring compliance with University expectations and government regulations for accessibility. Please note, the process to vet new and renewing technology for compliance may extend the purchasing timeline, and does require involvment involvement from faculty and staff requesting new ICT.

Over the summer break and throughout the fall semester, VPA IT has been busy transitioning all college printing into the campus PaperCut print accounting system. PaperCut tracks volume to help us better manage deployment of the college's printer fleet, and serves as a payment gateway to apply a nominal charge for student printing to recoup the cost for hardware and consumables. We've put together some new documentation to assist you with adding the new print queues to your computer. If you require additional support for printing, copying or document scanning services in the college, please submit a new support request through OrangeTracker.

Please refrain from unscheduled walk-ins to the VPA IT offices. The offices are sometimes unstaffed as personnel attend to duties elsewhere on campus, and staff present may be unable to offer immediate assistance due to already scheduled commitments.
