Using

Package Manager

  1. Start Rhino 7 and issue enter packagemanager on the packagemanager command line.
  2. In the Package Manager search box, search for a plugin, such as Weaverbird.
  3. ClimateStudio runs inside Rhino. Make sure you have the latest service of release of Rhino installed.
  4. Install ClimateStudio using default settings. (It installs to C:\Program Files\Solemma.)
  5. Start Rhino and you should see the ClimateStudio toolbar. In Grasshopper you should see the ClimateStudio tab.

  6. When you first run a simulation using ClimateStudio, it will ask for an activation code. Enter the following code:

As long as the COVID-19 crisis looms, the license above is valid. In the future, licenses will be locked down for checkout only on campus and via SURA with a 7-day roaming period.

Common Issues

  • You need the latest service release of Rhino to run ClimateStudio.

  • In some cases if you receive a GPU error, your graphics card drivers may need to be updated. 

  • ClimateStudio only works under Windows, and is not likely to run from a VM such as Parallels on the Mac.

  4. Most plugins will appear on the Rhino or Grasshopper menu.

Common Issues

  • If you don't see a plugin, it may already be installed. Check the menus under Grasshopper. Also check Rhino 6, as it may be installed there.

  • The Package Manager does not exist for Rhino 6.
