Lynda.com is being upgraded to LinkedIn Learning

In August, Syracuse University is upgrading your Lynda.com  account to LinkedIn Learning  to help you explore thousands of business, tech, and creative courses to get the skills you need. 

All eligible Lynda.com users will receive an email to their NetID@syr.edu email account providing them a link to activate their LinkedIn Learning account. This will also prompt the user to link it to their LinkedIn account, which they can created using their NetID@syr.edu email account.

Why is this change occurring? 


LinkedIn purchased lynda.com in 2015, in 2016 Microsoft acquired LinkedIn and decided to rebrand it as LinkedIn Learning. The university has been working with the LinkedIn Learning team over the last several months to help ensure a smooth transfer from lynda.com.

When will the change occur?

The changeover will take place on August 16, 2019, there will be a brief downtime after which University affiliates will be able to login to LinkedIn Learning. 

Will lynda.com still be accessible after the changeover?


No, if you go to the University lynda.com page you will be redirected to the new LinkedIn Learning page. 

Will user progress in lynda.com courses be saved?


Yes, anyone who has completed or started a course in lynda.com will be able to retain any progress they have made.

Will the upgrade come with any new features?


Yes! The upgrade will allow users to group LinkedIn Learning courses together in a sequence for learning. There will be a personalized recommendations field and users will be able to
