Course Description

Basic concepts and technologies of information security. Students who successfully complete this course will have a comprehensive overview of information security with some hands-on experience.

Learning Objectives

  1. Explain the key concepts of information security.
  2. Understand the hardware and software components that make up computer and telecommunications networks.
  3. Identify information security threats and develop proactive countermeasures.
  4. Develop risk response strategies to information security incidents.
  5. Develop corporate policy strategies to address information security concerns.
  6. Establish subject matter expertise in area selected for final project.
  7. Leverage hands-on labs and in-class exercises to develop a practical understanding of the concepts discussed throughout the course.
