Recording Your Name Pronunciation for Commencement

It is important to us that we correctly pronounce your name when it is called during our commencement ceremony.
To help us do so, please send a short recording of the pronunciation of your name, which we will reference when preparing for the ceremony.
We recommend using a recorder app on your phone, then sharing the recording with us. Instructions for doing so are below.
Recordings should be sent to CommencementSubmit@syr.edu. Please include the full spelling of your name in the subject line.
iPhone
Launch the built-in Voice Memos app
Press record and state your name as you would like it to be pronounced
Press stop
Tap the three dots menu icon in the upper right corner
Choose Share, then your Outlook or Mail app
Change the subject to the full spelling of your name
Add the address CommencementSubmit@syr.edu to the To: field
Tap the arrow icon to send the message
Android
Open a recorder app
We suggest Google's own Recorder app as seen in the video above, which can be downloaded for free from the Play Store
Press record and state your name as you would like it to be pronounced
Press pause, then Save
Tap the resulting recording, then tap the share icon in the menu bar
Choose to share as a file, click Next, and tap your email client to open a new message
Add the full spelling of your name to the subject field
Add the address CommencementSubmit@syr.edu to the To: field
Click send
