Change/Sync SU password with SU Managed Mac using Jamf Connect

 

If off campus with device, you must be connected to OpenVPN Client before connecting to Jamf Connect.

If on campus and connected to AirOrangeX wifi, you must be connected to OpenVPN Client before connecting to Jamf Connect.

 

Jamf Connect has multiple uses like changing your SU password, syncing your SU password to your managed computer, accessing shared G Drive space, or managing your apps via Self Service.

Change your SU password:

 

  1. Click the Jamf Connect icon on your menu bar and select NetID Password Change

     

      2. The Self-Serv window will open. You can click on the 3 lines to the top right to view the menu or click the green maximize button to view the menu.

 

      3. Click Change Your Password

     

      4. Type your NetID and current password in the next window to authenticate.

     

      5. Click Submit and follow the prompts in the next window to create a new password.

 

Sync new password to your computer

 

 

      6. Once you've successfully changed your password, click the Jamf Connect icon on the menu bar

a. Click Renew Tickets (This prompts Jamf Connect to compare the current users password to their SU password) When they are different, you'll receive the prompt in step 7 of this document. 

b. Or wait until this box appears in the top right corner of your screen and click on it.

i) You can ignore the "Leave on Time Sensitive" notification or choose an option to turn off or leave on. 

 

      7. The next box is asking for your old password (local) in order to sync your new password (NetID) to the computer.

 

      8. Once you click Sync, your computer will now accept your new SU password to unlock and sign in.
