Consuming SU Content

Overview

We have many contributors and contributions, but how can you display all this content and keep it up to date?

Currently the Digital Sign Network consists of over 400 signs in various schools, colleges, and administrative units across campus and in remote sites. While there is only one application/network tying them together which allows for services like "Emergency Messaging", the administration of individual signs is distributed and managed at the local level. Each unit may have their own protocols for what is ultimately displayed on the signs within their domain.

New for 2025, you may now simply add a “Shared Content Feed” proportioned for a specific region within your template and presto, your sign is now showing “all” the available SU shared content in a 30 second rotation. No more convoluted emails, no more downloading, creating content items, and best, no more checking to remove old/expired content.

Here you can see a 16x9 Sign Player that also includes a large “16x9 Region” showing the shared content item “SU ALL Content Feed 16x9”. The other two formated items are “SU ALL Content Feed 4x3“ and “SU ALL Content Feed 9x16“.

Steps

In Content Manager, the sign administrator simply drags the appropriate content item from the Content pane below to a properly formatted template region of the intended sign. Do a “File > Save” and then deploy!

* CAUTION - Do not change any of the settings for the content item doing so will effect all signs playing that content. There are options if you want to try something different.

Wait! I have department specific content I need to show… Simply create and add your “feed” to the region and the Player will cycle back and forth between the two feeds all day long!
