Kaltura General Use Questions
Who has access to Kaltura?
All active faculty, staff, and students of both Syracuse University and ESF (Need to confirm ESF) have access to the web interface.
All Blackboard users will automatically have access to Kaltura Blackboard functionality based on their enrollment in courses, with instructor having additional functionality in managing their courses. Users not teaching or enrolled in a Blackboard course should use the web interface to manage to their Kaltura content.
How do I log into Kaltura MediaSpace?
To access KalturaMediaSpace (KMS), simply visit videos.syr.edu and log in using your NetID and password.
For Blackboard functionality, simply log into Blackboard.
How do I learn how to use Kaltura?
Users can self-learn by viewing instructions and how-to documentation for both the KMS and Blackboard functionality.
Will there be additional learning opportunities?
Additionally training opportunities are under development and will be communicated through future emails.
Who has access to view my videos in Kaltura?
While some administrators may be able to see your videos in the system, your students, TA, or fellow classmates will only see your videos if you embed them in a course.
