Purpose

To identify employees that either haven't submitted their time or have time waiting to be approved

Start

Do this task anytime you want to see the status of time submitted by employees in your department.

Actions

This How-To Guide is organized into the following procedures:
A. Go to Your Time and Labor WorkCenter
B. Search for Time Waiting to Be Approved
C. Search for Employees Who Haven't Submitted Their Time

A. Go to Your Time and Labor WorkCenter

  1. Log into your MySlice home page.

B. Search for Time Waiting to Be Approved

  1. Make sure you are at the Manage Payable Time tab and Unprocessed Payable Time section.
  2. Click the arrow next to the Employee Selection section.
  3. Do you want to search for specific people or groups of people?
    • No: Click Clear Criteria.
    • Yes: Start typing what you want to search for in one of the criteria boxes and then pick it from the list that opens as you type.

Example: To see the time for a department, start typing the department number in the Department box and then pick the number from the list that opens as you type.

4. Enter the date range for the time you want to see or use the calendar buttons to select dates.

Example: Suppose you want to see who has time for the pay period Thursday, May 24 to, Wednesday June 6 that hasn't been approved yet. In that case, enter a Start Date of 05/24/2018 and an End Date of 06/06/2018.

5. Click the Refresh Summary Page button.

Result: A list of employees that have time waiting to be approved for the period you specified.

Important: If your search returns a large number of people, you may not see all of them at once. To see additional rows, scroll to the far right of your screen and use the left and right arrows to move forward and backward through the list.

6. To see the details of someone's time, click their last name.

7. To return to your search results, click Return to Select Employee at the bottom of the page.

Example: Search by Workgroup

Suppose you want to see if any employees in the Public Safety Union workgroup for the pay period from May 31 to June 6 have unapproved time. In that case:

  1. Expand the Employee Selection section and type the code for the Public Safety Union workgroup. You will notice that the page gives you a list of possible matches to choose from as you type.Example of searching based on both a work group and dates
  2. Enter the date range and then click the Refresh Summary Page button.

C. Search for Employees Who Haven't Submitted Their Time

  1. Make sure you are still at the Manage Payable Time tab.
  2. Click Payable Time Summary.
  3. Click the arrow next to the Employee Selection section.
  4. Do you want to search for specific people or groups of people?
    • No: Click Clear Criteria.
    • Yes: Start typing what you want to search for in one of the criteria boxes and then pick it from the list that opens as you type.

5. In the Start Date box, enter the first day of the pay period you want to see or use the calendar button to select the date.

Note: The End Date is initially set to today's date.

6. Click the Refresh Summary Page button.

7. Review the results:

A. Click the double-left arrows to hide the Time and Labor WorkCenter and show more of the Payable Time Summary.

B. Notice that the End Date was reset to show a 7-day period starting with the Start Date.

C. To see who hasn't submitted their time, look for 0 hours in the Hours to be Approved column.Results of a search for payable time with employees who do not have any hours to be approved.
