The Bharati Memorial Award was established in 1994 to encourage and facilitate the study of South Asia among specifically among doctoral students at Maxwell.  We therefore strongly encourage its recipients to present their projects in relevant forums during the 2024-2025 academic year, such as at the Annual Conference on South Asia, University of Wisconsin-Madison or other appropriate professional society conferences. Bharati Memorial Award recipients should also make significant efforts to publish a paper based on their funded project.
