To support research collaborations between MESP faculty and undergraduate students, the program will award awards two Undergraduate Research Assistant (RA) Fellowships for the current each academic year ($ 1for $1,500 each). The fellowship will be fellowships are awarded to SU Syracuse University faculty who work on MESworking on Middle Eastern studies-related (broadly defined) research projects to hire undergraduate students to work as RAs on the project. Interested faculty should submit their applications by November 1, 2023. To apply, faculty should send an email to Eleanor Langford at evlangfo@syr.edu with a brief description of the research project and job description for the RA to be hired. If the student is already known, please include their CV and a transcript. Funds should be used by May 15, 2024. At the end of the project, RAs will submit a one-page report explaining what they have learned and how their involvement has affected their knowledge and understanding of the MENA region. Students need not be MES majors/minors but should have a minimum GPA of 3.2February 15.
