Beginning in November 2021, users accessing Blackboard with a Microsoft Edge browser began to see a message reading: 404 - File or directory not found. The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. This problem occurs when Edge attempts to open Microsoft Office document such as a Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file from Blackboard within the browser itself, rather than downloading it and opening it from the application. Users encountering this problem can verify it by attempting to access the file from Firefox or Google Chrome. If a user prefers to continue using Edge with Blackboard they should adjust their browser settings by disabling the option to "Open Office files in the browser." |
