Microphones can be found in the accessory drawer, which is usually located in the technology rack or on the teaching station. For rooms that include a Public Address system, there will be at least one handheld microphone and one body pack microphone. Batteries can also be found in this accessory drawer. This document will give instructions on how to use the wireless microphones.

Using the Handheld Microphone

  • Locate the handheld microphone in the accessory drawer 
  • Turn on the Technology system on the Touch Panel 
    • "Microphones Only" option may also be selected on the Touch Panel
  • Turn on the microphone by pressing and holding the power button on the bottom of the microphone (See: Figure 2.2_Handheld_Power)Figure 2.2_Handheld_Power
  • If done correctly, the LED display on the microphone will illuminate. (See: Figure 2.3_Handheld_Display)

  • If the microphone does not turn on, the batteries may need to be replaced
    • To replace the batteries unscrew the bottom of the microphone (See: Figure 2.4_Handheld_Batteries)

    • Once completed close the body of the microphone and repeat the instructions above.\
  • To use the microphone properly hold the microphone at a 45 degree angle and speak into the head of the microphone with close proximity.

 


Using the Bodypack Microphone

The body pack microphone may also be referred to as a lavalier or clip on microphone. To use this microphone, follow these instructions:

  • Locate the body pack microphone in the accessory drawer 
  • Turn on the Technology system on the Touch Panel 
    • "Microphones Only" option may also be selected on the Touch Panel
  • On the sides of the microphone are two buttons
    • Push these buttons and pull down to open the front cover (See: Figure 3.2_Bodypack_Cover)

  • From here, the power can be accessed. Press and hold the power button to turn the microphone on or off (See: Figure 3.3_Bodypack_Power)
  • If done correctly, the LED display on the microphone will illuminate.

  • If the LED display does not illuminate, change the batteries, which are also found behind the front cover
  • When finish close the front cover
  • On the back of the microphone is a clip to secure the microphone transmitter to the users waistband or clothing (See: Figure 3.4_Bodypack_Clip)Figure 3.4_Bodypack_ClipImage Added
  • When using the microphone, make sure that the microphone is unmuted
    • On the top of the microphone there is a switch to mute and unmute the microphone (See: Figure 3.5_Bodypack_Mute)

  • Next, secure the microphone element onto the user's collar or shirt, with the provided clip (See: Figure 3.6_Bodypack_Element)

Controlling Volume

  • To properly use the microphone, clip the element around 6-8" from the user's mouth and pointed in the right direction. (See: Figure 4_Wearing the Body Pack

Controlling Volume

Once the microphones are turned on properly, the volume for the microphones can be adjusted on the teaching station.

  • When using a room with a Touch Panel, the Microphone Volume is set to a preset volume, when turning on the system.
    •  From there, the microphone volume can be adjusted with the use of Up/Down arrows (See: Figure 5_Touch Panel_Microphone Volume)
    • The microphones can also be muted/unmuted with the Mute button

  • For rooms without a touch panel, a manual push button system may exist on the teaching station to adjust volume. (See: Figure 6_Manual_Microphone Volume)
