Students applying to CCE should select CCE as their first choice major on the Common Application because it will provide you the opportunity to answer a required, short CCE-specific essay question. Only once we receive your CCE essay response will we consider your application to the program. Choosing CCE as your second choice major will delay your application to CCE.
How to Apply as a Current Syracuse University Student
If you are a current first-year student or first-semester sophomore at Syracuse University, you still need to apply to the CCE program. Please complete and submit our application. We review applications schedule an appointment to meet with Dr. Julia Carboni or Amy Schmidt by emailing cceapplications@syr.edu.We admit new students on a rolling basis, but space is limited, so we encourage you to apply reach out as soon as you know CCE is the major for you. We are always happy want to meet chat with prospective CCE students to discuss how adding the major will enhance your academic and post-graduation career, and to plan your course schedule to ensure you will be able complete CCE requirements on time. In addition to strong academic performance, we look for student students who are actively involved in meaningful public service activities on or off campus. Once you are accepted, you must meet with us to plan your course schedule to ensure you will be able complete CCE requirements on time.
