Lynda.com is being upgraded to LinkedIn Learning

In August, Syracuse University is upgrading your Lynda.com  account to LinkedIn Learning  to help you explore thousands of business, tech, and creative courses to get the skills you need.

All eligible Lynda.com users will receive an email to their NetID@syr.edu email account providing them a link to activate their LinkedIn Learning account. This will also prompt the user to link it to their LinkedIn account, which they can create using their NetID@syr.edu email account.

LinkedIn purchased lynda.com in 2015, and in 2016 Microsoft acquired LinkedIn and decided to rebrand it as LinkedIn Learning. The university has been working with the LinkedIn Learning team over the last several months to help ensure a smooth transfer from lynda.com.

...

Will lynda.com still be accessible after the changeover?

No, if you go login to the University lynda.com page with your university credentials you will be redirected to the new LinkedIn Learning page.

Will user progress in lynda.com courses be saved?

...

Yes! The upgrade will allow users to group LinkedIn Learning courses together in a sequence for learning. There will be a personalized recommendations field and users will be able to connect their LinkedIn account, which means that any certifications earned will show up on the users LinkedIn profile.
