Flatbed Scanning (up to 8.5x11 inches)
Flatbed scanners are available on the 1st floor first (east side), second and third floor of Bird library and Carnegie library, connected via USB to the public workstations. Instructions on how to use them can be found attached to the scanners or under the How-to section below.
Flatbed Scanning (up to 11x17 inches)
A single flatbed tabloid scanner, connected via USB to a public workstation, is located on the 4th floor of Bird library by the media viewing/listening area.
Copy Machines Scanning Function (up to 11x17 inches)
All Xerox copy machines available throughout the libraries have a scanning function with the ability to send directly to any email address or save to a USB flash drive (must be FAT formatted). The scanning function is free of charge, but requires a netid and password (or guest printing account login and password) to login.
Microfilm Scanning
Microfilm scanning/viewing machines are available on the 3rd floor of Bird library by the stairwell.

1. Open Finder (bottom left side of the Dock), go into Applications and open Image Capture.

NOTE: Consider creating a new folder and selecting that as your destination for big scan jobs.
3. Place your document on the bottom left corner of the scanner and click Scan.

Creating a PDF (or Multi-Page PDF)
1. Follow the Scanning steps to scan your page/s.
2. Open Finder (bottom left side of the Dock), go into Applications and open the Adobe Acrobat DC folder->Adobe Acrobat.
3. Go to File->Create->Combine Files into a Single PDF....
4. From the top left Add Files... drop-down menu, select Add Files....
5. Locate your scanned file/s, select them and click Add Files.
NOTE: To select multiple files hold down the Command key and select files.
6. If necessary, you can drag pages around to put them in order, when done click Combine Files.
7. If pages are upside down, go to View->Rotate View from the top menu and rotate your pages. Otherwise, you can save your PDF by going into File->Save.
