Registrar classrooms may include a Touch Link Panel, which will control the Audio Visual technology within the classroom. Users control the technology through the use of virtual buttons pressed on the touch screen. The appearance of the touch panel will vary based on the technology within the room. This document will give instructions on how top use the Touch Link Panel, with the different variations of technology in LEMP classrooms. Featured is LEMP's standardized template, installed in newly upgraded rooms.

Starting the System
The Touch Link Panel will be installed on either the teaching station or on a wall in the front of the room. The Touch Link Panel monitors activity through a motion sensor. If the touch panel appears off, walk up to the Touch Panel and wave your hand in front of the Touch Panel.
The following image should appear (See Figure 2_Touch Panel_Start Page):
Lighting and Microphone Control on Start Page
If the room includes microphones and lighting control, they can be controlled independently without turning on all of the other technology.
- Lighting Control and Microphone Only buttons can be found on the bottom of the Touch Link Panel (See Figure 2_Touch Panel_Start Page)
- Press each button once, and the following image should appear (See Figure 2.1_Touch Panel_Start Page_Microphone and Lighting Control):
- Lighting in the room can be adjusted by selecting different presets. These presets are described by different numbers.
- The microphone volume is controlled by up and down arrows. There is also an option to Mute the microphone. If Mute is selected, it will appear orange. Press the button again to unmute the microphones.
- When pressing buttons allow the system time to respond.
Starting Single Display AV Presentation
To start the system select the center button labeled AV Presentation (See Figure 2_Touch Panel_Start Page). From there, commands will be sent to the different technology to turn on.
Starting Dual Display AV Presentation
Please note that some rooms with Dual Displays, such as Maxwell Auditorium and CST 1-019, do not have independent source control, and mirror a single source. This is due to the architecture of the room and so that everyone in the room can have the same viewing experience.
Presentation
Some classrooms may have the option of Dual or Single Projection. Only one will be able to be selected per session. To switch modes, the system will need to be turned off and then on again. To start the system select either Dual Projector or Center Projector (See Figure 2.2_Start Page_Dual Projection).

Controlling Technology
Based on the technology in the room, you will be able to control the following on the main page of the Touch Link Panel (See: Figure 3_Touch Panel_Main Page):
- Camera Controls
- Display Power
- Display Source and Control
- Lighting
- Microphone Volume
- Monitor Source
- Playback Volume
Camera Controls
In rooms that have cameras installed, commands will be sent to turn the cameras on during the system start up. There will be a camera in the rear and front of the room, that can Pan, Tilt, and Zoom. The cameras can be previewed on the Wacom Monitor and are fed into the Windows Computer as a video source. These cameras can be used for applications such as Skype, Blackboard Collaborate, etc.
To control the cameras:
- Press the button labeled Camera Controls on the main page of the touch panel (See: Figure 3_Touch Panel_Main Page)
- The following page will appear (See: Figure 4_Camera Control Page)
- Select which camera you would like to control (Front or Rear)
- If there is a Wacom Monitor on the Teaching Station, it will give you a preview of the camera's video
- Use the Zoom In/Out, Up/Down/Left/Right arrows to control the direction of the camera
- Presets at the bottom of the control page, will set the camera to pre-defined locations
- Press Close to return to the main page of the Touch Panel
Display Power
When starting the Audio Visual system, commands are sent to turn on the Display. This might be a television display or a projector. Users will also have the ability to turn the display on/off, or mute/unmute the display.
To control the display:
- Turn the system on
- In rooms that have dual projection, select the display you would like to control (See: Figure 3.1_Touch Panel_ Main Page_Display Power)
- On the left column of the Main Page of the TLP, select Power On, Power Off, Video Mute to control the Power status of the Display (See: Figure 3.1_Touch Panel_ Main Page_Display Power)
- Buttons that are selected will appear orange. If the display is muted, a message may appear, indicating that the display is muted. The button will need to be selected again to unmute the display.
- Please note that if Power Off is selected, the Display may take several minutes to shut down, before being able to turn on again.
Display Source and Control
When starting the Audio Visual system, the Display will default to the Windows Computer. Users will have the ability to select different sources to be displayed. These sources will vary based on the technology in the room.
To select a source:
- Turn the system on
- For rooms with Dual Display, first select the desired display that the source will be sent to
- On the upper menu bar, select the button of the desired source (See: Figure 8_Touch Panel Main Page Blu Ray)
- Selecting a source button will send a command to the input device to turn on, and for its video signal to be sent to the display
- If the source has remote control features, they may also be available on the touch panel
- For instance, with a Blu-Ray player, the Touch Link Panel will display the same controls as on the remote (See: Figure 3.2_Touch Panel_Main Page_Blu Ray)
Microphone and Playback Volume
On the right column of the Main Page of the touch panel, are the controls for the room audios. Based on the rooms technology, there are options to raise, lower, mute/unmute the main volume, and the Microphone Volume. (See: Figure 3.3_Touch Panel_Main Page_Volume Control)
- Main volume will control playback volume/any volume being sent to the speakers from the selected display source (i.e. PC, Blu-Ray, HDMI, etc.)
- Microphone Volume will control Microphones being used in the room. Most rooms will include 1 handheld and 1 lavalier microphone found in the teaching station.
System Utilities
Additional technology can be controlled through the System Utilities button on the Main Page of the touch panel. Controls for monitor source, lighting, volume, and screen controls can be found in the System Utilities.
To control additional technology:
- Turn the system on
- Press the System Utilities button on the lower left corner of the Main Page of the touch panel (See: Figure 3_Touch Panel_Main Page)
- The following page will be recalled on the touch panel (See: Figure 5_System Utilities Page):
- From this page, lighting presets, screen position, and teaching station monitor sources, can be selected
- Press the close button to return to the main page of the touch panel
Turning Off the System
- To turn off the system select System off on the lower right side of the main page of the touch panel (See: Figure 6_System Off)
- The touch panel will ask you to confirm that you want to turn off the system (See: Figure 6_System Off)
- The touch panel will return to the original start page once the system is finished shutting down.
