Report the Working Hours and Time Off for an Employee

Purpose

To report the working hours and time off for someone who hasn't submitted it themselves

Start

Do this task when you have an employee in your department that needs their time submitted for them.

Actions

This How-To Guide is organized into the following procedures:
A. Go to the Time and Labor WorkCenter
B. Search for the Employee or Employees
C. Enter the Time

A. Go to the Time and Labor WorkCenter

  1. Log into your MySlice home page.

  3. Make sure you are at the Departmental Administrator home page.

B. Search for the Employee or Employees

To find the people you want to report time for:

  1. Click the Manage Report Time tab.
  2. Click the arrow next to the Employee Selection section.
  3. Do you want to search for specific people or groups of people?
      • No: Click Clear Criteria.
      • Yes: Start typing what you want to search for in one of the criteria boxes and then pick it from the list that opens as you type.

    Example: To see the timesheets for a workgroup, start typing the workgroup code in the Workgroup box and then pick the workgroup from the list that opens as you type.

  4. In the Date box, enter the first or last day of the pay period you are reporting or use the calendar buttons to select a day.
  5. Example: Suppose you want to report someone's time for the week of 06/07/2018 to 06/13/2018. In that case, enter a date of either 06/07/2018 or 06/13/2018.

  6. Click the Refresh Summary Page button. 
    Result: The timesheets for the people and period you specified.

    Note: Your list may include timesheets for both weekly and semi-monthly people.

C. Enter the Time

  1. Click the last name of the person you want to enter time for.

  2. To see the more of the timesheet, click the double left arrows in the upper left side of the page.

  3. From the Time Reporting Code list, choose the type of time you are reporting (e.g., regular, vacation).
  4. Enter the hours for the appropriate days.
  5. If you need more rows for different types of time, scroll to the far right and click the plus  [+} sign.


  6. If the time needs a MyCode, enter it in the MyCode box.
  7. If you need to override the chartstring for the hours, click ChartFields and enter the chartstring.
  8. When you have entered the time for the week, click Submit and then OK.
  9. Check your work: You have successfully reported the employee's time if:
    • You received a message that the rules were successfully applied.
    • The correct time is shown under Reported Time Status at the bottom of the timesheet.

10. Click Return to Select Employee.
